A bit more eye candy from the fabulous shops of LA!
I was in Los Angeles last month for a little adventure driving up the Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco (which I highly recommend, BTW). I did a bit of shopping as well, and thought I’d feature one of my favorite home decor shops in the area. H.D. Buttercup seems to be expanding widely (there are now 4 in LA), and it’s no wonder – they stock an eclectic assortment of home decor and furnishings that are pretty unique. Here’s a little sampling… (As always, click to shop!)
Earlier this fall, I spent a few days exploring a number of lovely towns throughout upstate NY. What I discovered was amazing vintage and home shopping, and an abundance of unique character! Totally charming & inspiring.
I had the pleasure of visiting Hudson, NY last week where I discovered so many wonderful little shops! One that I found irresistible (and that did a bit of damage to my pocketbook) was Fig & Bella. They create scarves, wraps, pillows, textiles that are each individually handmade using a modern interpretation of traditional dyeing techniques.
Every Fig & Bella wool, silk, viscose, & tie dye cashmere scarf is individually dyed by hand in the Hudson Valley. All of our pillows are also dyed in our studio, and our candles are hand poured in the USA. Our cashmere is carefully sourced from master artisans and dyers in Nepal, with whom we work closely to produce only the finest quality scarves.
Pillows Start at $60; scarves at $89 (As always, click to shop!)
I’m on a mission to find a new coffee table for my living room. I want something cool looking, but not weird; practical, but not boring – not too big, not too small. It’s a tough decision, as there are sooooo many good options out there! Here’s a sampling of contenders… (As always, click to shop)
My apologies; I’ve been off my game a bit lately. There are some diabolical (well, to me anyway…) new incompatibilities between my trusty old desktop computer and a new blogging interface that I’m sorting through. In the mean time, I’m posting from my iPad until I get it all figured out. Anyway, I thought I’d share a few pics from a shopping trip through Minneapolis last week. Pretty inspiring stuff right here in my own back yard! (Now, if they were only in my house!) A list of shopping sites follows the images. Enjoy!
