One of the early type animations that totally inspired my love for the craft.
I leave for Europe tomorrow; off to take in the Maison et Objet trade fair in Paris, and do a bit of shopping and exploring some other areas. So, I thought something French would be good to get me in the mood. And while this track doesn’t sound typically French per se, it is bonifiedly (which is technically not a real word) out of Aix-en-Provence. Don’t You Know by Kungs, 2016.
I’ve been in Atlanta this week, walking the Gift Show and exploring the retail scene. But truth be told, I’m a little homesick. (Can that be right? I’m usually pretty “present”, wherever I am.) Anyway, maybe a dose of Minneapolis sound will tide me over ’til my flight home. Rain Water by Bother Ali from the album Champion, 2004.
Wow. So, back to reality this week after some time off has proved slightly more chaotic than one would like… I suppose I should have mentally prepared better for life beyond lounging in yoga pants, leisurely lunches with friends and binge watching Game of Thrones. Work just seems quite busy in comparison, no? So, something so so soothing on this lovely day. Lovely Day by alt-J from the album This is All Yours, 2014.
Obviously, I’ve been pretty off my game lately. Five years of publishing darn near every week day, and I’m finding myself suddenly flummoxed by the prospect of keeping up the pace. Part of that’s technical difficulties (really, I’ve GOT to get a non-dinosaur computer!), part of it is a busy work and travel schedule, and part of it is that advent of a Minnesota summer – where one tends to carpe every diem possible to get out in the garden and abandon the screen. Anyway, I’m bouncing back in, and seeing if I can find my groove. So today, a track I’ve had in heavy rotation this spring. Just puts me in a good mood. Pretty Wings by Maxwell from he album BLACKsummers’night, 2009.
