Edgy Wood

Fans of live edge, rejoice! Rustic Trip is an Etsy shop that specializes in creating furniture pieces (like headboards, tables and the like) out of enormous slabs of live edge wood. Yes, they’re spendy – but sooooo gorgeous!

Shopping LA – part 1

Thought I’d share a few pics from my visit to Los Angeles earlier this summer. Loving the Cali Casual vibe and great mix of vintage + artisan + modern pieces!

Citizen Cane

I’m currently obsessed by this amazing cane + bentwood chair by German designer Michael Thonet! It’s called the Era Chair (1859), and it’s been in continuous production for more than 150 years. On a mission to find some vintage ones…

Modern Cre8tive

Amazing – handcrafted furniture that’s not only beautifully designed, but not unspeakably spendy. Moderncre8ve is located in Cleveland Ohio, and specializes in Modern and Midcentury Modern hardwood furniture. All pieces are handmade one at a time, using locally sourced hardwood lumber from Amish country, as well as steel made in the Cleveland area. (As always, click to shop!)

Moderncre8ve’s philosophy harkens back when to when we were young. Our dad built our first house from the ground up, and built all of our furniture when we were kids. Growing up in this enviroment instilled in us early on that furniture is something that should not only serve a function and form; but be something that is timeless, beautiful, and most importantly; something that is made with love and care.

Atlanta Gift Show, July 2016 – part 1

The Atlanta Gift Fair is one of my favorites. Mostly because everything you can imagine is represented there! The diversity of styles is incredible and allows for unedited inspiration.

Ambling through Antwerp – part 1

I had the privilege of visiting Antwerp, Belgium in October of this year; a place I’d never been before. It was such a pleasure to explore the city! Very urban and sophisticated in the city center – as you might imagine – but with a certain softness; a cozy, casual lifestyle that was uniquely its own. We also explored garden shops in outlaying areas, which made me yearn for spring before the last leaf of autumn had even fallen… Here’s the first batch of images from my retail excursions:

Checking out Copenhagen – part 1

I was lucky enough to spend a couple days in Copenhagen last month, browsing the home decor scene. It was AMAZING! The Danish sensibility is absolutely lovely.
