  1. I enjoyed spending time looking at all this, the videos are great, the work is intriguing, color is glorious! I am sure this has contributed to my feeling better and my ability to creep out of the cocoon …. and find out just what is going on? Especially in Paris, of course. love, mom

I’ve mentioned Maison et Oject design trade show before on this blog. If you want to know what’s happening in Interior Design M&S is the place to be. Of course it’s held in Paris, where else? This trade show is considered the lead for all interior design or just any product that could end up in your home. It show cases everything from textiles to office trinkets. In fact one of my favourite halls to visit is the area that houses all the whimsical and weird novelty merchandise. I can spend hours in that hall having a few good laughs because the stuff is so much fun, unlike the sheashy fru fru (who knows how to spell that?) designer halls. I love to see it all. All that creativity under several large roofs makes me giddy with excitement.
Although I did not attend this year’s Maison et Objet design trade show I can easily sum it up this way….the more things change the more they stay the same. Typical of the show is it’s eco movement seen for at least the last 10 years mixed in with organic shapes and substrates. Followed closely by futuristic design movement inspired by the speed and evolving design technology that doesn’t restrict designers to simplistic shapes. And the bronze goes to, recycled tropical florals, which you should be seeing at mass retailers in about 2 years from now.
