Visual Recap NYC – part one

I’ve been stomping around Manhattan this week, visiting my favorite home decor haunts and the NY NOW gift show in search of directional trends and a bit of inspiration. The city certainly delivered this time! Generally, the tone is still very casual and livable. I saw an explosion of fresh color palettes, pattern mixing, mid-century & “farm to table” influences and artisan sensibilities. Here’s the first batch of pics from the trip – more to follow next week!

  1. Spring? Are you kidding? We haven’t gotten into the city (Manhattan) for days, we’re so snowed-and-iced in. But today we have to go – out of coffee beans; out of wine! Love the palette for this year, though, so thanks for the preview, it encourages one a little. Looks like you checked out Marimekko – where else?

    1. It’s chilly, but not hard to get around Manhattan today. I was all over the city; ABC Carpet, Ochre & Haus Interiors and all the other little shops throughout Soho, Nolita, Brooklyn and TriBeCa, plus chains like CB2, West Elm, etc… I also walked the gift show, which was beautiful this year. Hope you get well fortified with coffee and wine!
