Fiess-ty Ceramics

Ben Fiess Lofo

I hold a certain passion for pottery. When I was younger, my dad and I used to drive out to Warren Mackensie’s studio near Stillwater, MN (…these were the days before he became so famous that he decided to stop signing his pots. Doing so kept the collector/resale market from jacking up the value and afforded everyday folk the luxury of owning his work). Thus began an ongoing infatuation with the art form. One of my most recent discoveries is another Minnesota-based potter, named Brian Feiss. (Thank you, Pinterest, for making the introduction!) He seems a heady chap (“I work to create copacetic forms in space”), with an amazing sensibility for color and glaze techniques. (As always, click to shop!)
